Who is Belinda?

Her campaign website is up. From the start, I've said the Conservatives need an outsider to take over the party leadership, to defuse the argument that the new party is just the Alliance and/or the PCs under a different name. But before I throw my support behind Belinda Stronach, I'd like to know where she stands on the issues - and the fact that she has yet to release any policy platform isn't encouraging.

From what I've gathered in the media, Stronach supported the Iraq war (good), supports gay marriage (good) and opposes liberalizing marijuana laws (not good). I'll have to wait and see what else she believes. The deciding issue will be how well she stands up under tough questioning and debate with Harper and Tony "the other guy" Clement. Eleven years ago, the PC party chose another little-known blonde as leader, and that mess is too depressing to discuss further.

Let's see a policy platform and a candidiates' debate, and then we'll see if Belinda can pull this off.
