Nissan nails it

Car and Driver liked the new Ford F-150 pickup. Unfortunately for Ford, they liked the Nissan Titan - Nissan's first ever attempt at building a full-size truck - even better.

Ford has pretty much admitted it can't build cars as well as its Japanese and European affiliates, which is why their upcoming models are based on Volvo and Mazda platforms. GM and Chrysler are relying heavily on foreign engineering as well. But all of the U.S. manufacturers must have figured they were the undisputed champions in making trucks, and this comparison test must be making a lot of people really, really nervous. (And Toyota has a new Tundra coming out soon, too.)

Mind you, if I were buying a pickup, I'd have to get a Dodge Hemi, just on principle. Not because it's American (Chrysler - sorry, DaimlerChrysler - is at least half-German these days), but because it's a freakin' Hemi.
