Michael Moore crosses the line

He comes out and admits it: he wants his fellow Americans to keep dying at the hands of the Iraqi "minutemen", so much that he even opposes the UN taking over the occupation, just so he can look smarter:

There is a lot of talk amongst Bush’s opponents that we should turn this war over to the United Nations. Why should the other countries of this world, countries who tried to talk us out of this folly, now have to clean up our mess? I oppose the U.N. or anyone else risking the lives of their citizens to extract us from our debacle. I’m sorry, but the majority of Americans supported this war once it began and, sadly, that majority must now sacrifice their children until enough blood has been let that maybe — just maybe — God and the Iraqi people will forgive us in the end.

I've savaged Michael Moore a lot in this blog, but I was occasionally willing to admit he made a good point now and then. No more. He's down there with Pilger, Galloway, Mallick and Rivero from now on.

By the way, 10 bucks says this edition of "Mike's Message" will mysteriously disappear, or that the most egregious passages will be quietly excised, before the end of the week is out. Michael Moore, brave dissident and great speaker of truth to power, has a history of that kind of thing.

Asshole.
