Joining forces

Everybody's talking about a possible Liberal-NDP coalition, or a Conservative-BQ coalition, or even a Conservative-NDP coalition (nah). But, Colby Cosh, noting that the Liberals and New Democrats may not earn enough seats between them to form a majority, asks about the seemingly unthinkable: what about a Liberal-Conservative coalition?

I'll be blunt: as much as I despise the Liberals' arrogance, corrpution and hypocrisy, I'd join with them before I'd make any arrangements with the separatists or socialists. This sort of thing happened in Germany in the late 1960s, when the SDP and CDU formed a "grand coalition", and I don't think we should rule it out here, either.

The biggest roadblock? Ego. Would Harper or Martin be willing to serve under the other as Prime Minister?
