My radio debut

It went quite well, overall. I appeared with host Dorothy King - a very nice woman - and a pro-Nader journalism student speaking on the phone from Stephenville. My main points: I was leaning toward Bush before last night, but Kerry clearly won the debate and knocked me deeper into the "undecided" camp - despite his jaw-dropping remarks on Iran and his disingenuous position on North Korea. Bush was distracted, nervous and had trouble grasping for words, except for his comments about meeting the wife of a soldier killed in Iraq (generally considered the high point of his debate, according to the blogs).

We only had about 10 minutes - not enough time to bring up some other issues, including the student movement in Iran. But I appreciated the experience, and my nervousness melted away as soon as we started. (Kind of like major court appearances, really.) I'll be happy to do it again.

Bad news: I set up my stereo to tape it, but it looks like I set the timer for 7:45 PM instead of AM. CBC Corner Brook has no website, so I guess this performance is lost to time, at least until the Omicronians hear it 1,000 years from now.

(By the way, it's not really my radio debut - I did some work for CHMR, the student station at Memorial University, for a few years in the early 1990s. But I'm pretty sure more people were listening today.)
