Media blitz continues
I'm quoted in this Toronto Star story about Jeopardy! phenom Ken Jennings, who - rumour has it - will finally lose sometime this week.
After I give up my seat on a flight, Canadian Airlines (R.I.P.) gave me a voucher to fly anywhere in North America, so on a whim I flew to L.A. in 1998 to try out for the show. Of approximately 60 people who took the test (in the studio-audience bleachers on the Jeopardy! set), about a dozen passed. I was not among them. To my enduring shame, I flubbed the one question about Canada.
Next time I'm in Los Angeles, I'll probably try it again. If nothing else, it's a free chance to get onto the Sony Pictures backlot (formerly the MGM lot, and one of the most famous movie studios on earth) and see Hollywood up close. ("Hollywood," in this case, being Culver City.)
Update: spoiler ahead...
Yep, he loses tonight. The "Final Jeopardy!" question is one of these questions which has you slapping your forehead when you see the answer, because it's so obvious.
