Thank God he lost

Another definition of chutzpah: reflexively opposing everything the Bush Administration has done to fight terrorism after 9/11, even going to Saudi Arabia to say Bush has gone too far, and then savaging the Bush Administration for not doing enough to fight terrorism before 9/11:

Warning that Bush and the Republican Congress have displayed "a blinding lack of awareness" about "the worst catastrophe in the history of human civilization" — global warming — Gore also blames the incumbent for ignoring the threat of 9/11.

Bush "was warned on Aug. 6, 2001, of an attack by Al Qaeda. 'Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US,' said the intelligence community in a message so important that it was the headline of the President's daily briefing that day, five weeks before the attacks," Gore seethes.

"Didn't he see that clear warning?" asks Gore. "Why were no questions asked, meetings called, evidence marshaled, clarifications sought?"

I often wonder how the Al Gores of the world would have responded had the 9/11 hijackers been arrested before they could carry out the attack, or had airport security been drastically toughened up before that horrible day. These people say America is too paranoid about terrorism after September 11, so God knows what they would have said on September 10.
