Goldstein under siege

Jeff Goldstein's Protein Wisdom, a site particularly adept at driving left-wing bloggers completely over the edge, has been brought down by two major denial-of-service attacks. Blackfive thinks the attacks are connected to the work of a particularly pervasive troll, who made a stream of death threats against Goldstein's two-year-old son.

One more thing: said troll is a psychology professor at the University of Arizona.

Damian P.

Update: said troll, Deborah Frisch, has admitted to posting the comments, apologized to Goldstein and resigned from her post at U of A. She doesn't say anything about the DOS attacks, and in light of this apology, I think we can assume she had nothing to do with them.

Update II: Frisch has a friend in her comment section. (Look for the comment that starts, "Tough break.")

And here she is, 366 days ago, in a post called "we are all qaeda today":

I am not happy that more widows, widowers and amputees were created yesterday. I don't think the people riding the London subway yesterday morning deserved to be blown up because of the war crimes committed by George Bush and condoned by Tony Blair.

But I am glad that someone said phuque you to bush, blair and the other hombres who represent (sic) the G-8 nations." (via SDA)

This woman needed professional help long before this controversy erupted.
