New Palestinian Government Same as Old

The Palestinian thugs-in-chief are up to new political games. Yesterday, Hamas and the Palestinian Liberation Organization agreed to a power sharing scheme to lead the Palestinian Authority.

By adding some PLO "legislators" to the cabinet of Hamas "legislators," they hope to persuade the world to give them more money.

Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas remains adamant about not seeking peace talks however, tossing that hot potato back into the hands of President Mahmoud Abbas.

Haniyeh told Reuters: "Negotiations have to do with the PLO and not with the government."

But of course... Haniyeh leads a party that states in its Charter some of the following gems:

-"Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it."
-"There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors."
-"The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day."

Not that the PLO is much different. Their Charter calls for the "liquidation of the Zionist presence" (their term for Israel).

If only the Palestinian leaders would end its overt promotion of violence, then maybe investors might give them a chance. After all, the global community must see by now that throwing more money into centralized "aid" programs just isn't effective...
