"Revenge of the center"

Smash, Moose and Bubba all agree that moderates were the big winners of the midterm elections. My advice to the Democrats, when the nutroots start howling: remember Connecticut.

It's been completely overshadowed by the Democrats taking control of Congress, but voters in Arizona - by and large, a very conservative state - turned down a proposed amendment to the state constitution which would have banned not only same-sex marriage but also civil unions. Similar measures passed in other states, but this is a clear sign of the way things are going.
