"Les citoyens canadiens sont sujets britanniques"

That's what is says at the bottom right of P.1 of my Canadian passport--in my hot little hands--issued in March, 1975. But, at the bottom left of my Canadian passport issued in February, 1978 (there is a good reason for the less than five-year interval), one finds "The bearer of this passport is a Canadian citizen".

This change was presumably a ramification of the 1977 Citizenship Act.
