It's got electrolytes!

Captain Ed recommends Idiocracy, Mike Judge's 2006 comedy about a meek army librarian cryogenically frozen for 500 years - during which time mankind has devolved into complete stupidity, making the hero the smartest man on earth by default.

Because of nervousness about the subject matter and/or dreadful test-screening results, 20th Century Fox gave the movie a token release. (Maybe the 2505 version of Fox News Channel, which provides some of the biggest laughs in the film, turned them off?) But Idiocracy has picked up such a dedicated following on DVD that "Brawndo" energy drink, the "Thirst Mutilator" featured in the film, is now being produced for real.

Idiocracy pulls off the neat trick of being a biting social satire and a very funny gross-out comedy, but what really puts the film over the top is production design that demands repeat viewings. Several examples of the world in 2505 can be seen here - the "hospital," in particular, is one of the best visual gags I've ever seen in a movie.
