Levant and "hypocrisy"

One of the main arguments leveled at Ezra Levant is that he's selectively in favor of free speech - if we were talking about anti-Jewish or anti-Israel cartoons, he'd be tripping over his own feet demanding censorship.

If that were true, it would make Levant no more hypocritical than many of his critics. In any event, Mike Brock - who's been blogging up a storm on this issue - digs up evidence that it isn't true:

From Wikpedia (referenced text) As head of the U of A's speakers committee, Levant flew in controversial lawyer Doug Christie, best known for his advocacy in defence of Holocaust deniers and accused Nazi war criminals, for a debate.

In University, at the age of 20, Ezra Levant, a practicing Jew, actually DEFENDED the right of anti-semites and Nazi war criminals.

There's a lengthy discussion on this point, and Levant's motives, in the Rational Reasons comment section.
