A hypocrisy scandal, not a sex scandal

When a conservative Christian public figure gets caught up in a gay sex scandal, it's usually a scandal not because he's gay (whether he's willing to admit that or not) but because he'd been preaching against homosexuality and gay rights.

It's the same kind of thing with Elliot Spitzer. Roger L. Simon puts it best:

...the outcry against Spitzer was not because he was some man seeing a prostitute, but because he was a guy who puts prostitutes in jail seeing a prostitute.
