That New Yorker cover

It's meant as satire, of course, and it's the kind of satire that only a pro-Obama publication could get away with. (Imagine the outrage if this had appeared on, say, The Weekly Standard.) In a way, I think it may help the Obama campaign - many of his supporters are outraged, and therefore motivated.

Anyone who would take this seriously likely doesn't read The New Yorker in the first place. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if someone starts e-mailing it around, with some anti-Obama captions attached. (Halifax Chronicle-Herald cartoonist Bruce MacKinnon knows what I'm talking about.)
