Motor Snake Oil

As the price of gas goes up, so does the number of "miracle technologies" supposedly guaranteed to dramatically increase your mileage.

Gullible people will buy them, of course, because they're convinced that evil oil companies and carmakers are trying to "suppress" these amazing gadgets. I can sort of understand the Big Oil conspiracy theories, but does anyone really believe Chrysler wouldn't rush the Dodge Ram "Water4Gas" edition into production if it worked?
