George Bush? Well, no. That bloodthirsty American, Barack Obama.

Will any of our major media ask M. Dion, Mr Layton, M. Duceppe, or Ms May what they think of Mr Obama's policy? Hah! Also, does Mr Harper support that policy?

Strange, is it not, that Canada's "neocon" prime minister is rather to the pacifist side of the likely next, Democratic, president of the United States? At times I do think Canadians inhabit a weird, parallel universe; one in which reality, knowledge, facts and history have no bearing. Instead we have ideology, attitude and, gasp, mindless politics.

In this county, even including Québec, we have a Weltanschauung based on an unfounded, self-satisfied, and falsely moralistic, sense of, er, superiority. My brutal final thought: other than Mr Harper (and I have grave doubts about him) can you imagine any other Canadian party leader debating with either Mr Obama or Mr McCain?
