More Black Knights

They keep losing limbs, but the Law Iz Kool bloggers keep coming back for more.

(Note to any litigious Law Is Cool contributors reading this post: that's not a threat of bodily harm, it's a Monty Python reference. Look it up.)

Their latest arguments: Mark Steyn committed a heinous crime against journalism because reviewers in specialized journals called into question the translation of Ayatollah Khomeini's writings, using completely different passages of the book as examples; and, a portion of Steyn's response to Miller - in which he notes that Miller tried to intervene to shut down his writing career, and asks how the "Journalism Doctor" would like it if he tried to get him dismissed from Ryerson - is a "subtle threat" to get Miller fired.

By coincidence, another Canadian blawger, our friend Bob Tarantino, recently released a very entertaining book called Under Arrest, about unusual and anachronistic Canadian laws. One of the most entertaining parts of the book describes Canadian laws against "crime comics," passed in the 1940s and '50s, when nervous legislators feared such publications were corrupting the morals of our easily influenced youth.

Had they been born a few decades earlier, the Law Is Cool kids would have been trying to get comic book distributors jailed.
