Freedom is slavery, etc.
The British Communist newspaper Morning Star is now available online without a subscription, which is enough to make you wonder whether this whole "internet" thing is really such a good idea. (Via Harry's Place) Their headline for the anniversary of the Cuban Revolution: "Cubans celebrate 50 years of freedom."
Of course, it's not just the likes of the Morning Star that use some variation of this line about Cuba:
When lame-duck US President George Bush leaves office this month, the revolution will have outlasted 10 US leaders.
Well, it's kind of easy to "outlast" a string of term-limited American Presidents when you don't put yourselves up for re-election, isn't it?

Update: there is no cult of personality surrounding Fidel Castro, according to, um, Fidel Castro. Well, glad that's settled, then.
