"cracker judge"

Plus a photo of lynchings from the 1930s (I judge). J'accuse: racist Southronphobia!'

Mark,
As I am banned from Dr. Dawg's blogsite, I no longer feel welcome and therefore, feel too depressed to read his "progressive" thoughts on a regular basis.
I feel that I am missing out on the debate on racist Sheriffs, segrationist southerners still living in the 50s, etc.
Thank you for post.
I do have a question. How can a "mob" be "white"? I was taught that race was a cultural manifestation and not a criminal organization.
"banned from Dr. Blawg's blogsite" nobody likes a braggart but congrats are in order...heh...
Posted at 2007-10-15 18:46:33 [PermaLink]I believe the faculty of Duke University proves lynching is still popular amongst certain classes while the Bork nomination demonstrates that fans of show trials still abound. The spineless adherence to the party line, robotic parroting of the party line and yelling of party slogans is still alive and well as is the singing of the international and worshipping at the altar of secularism, I mean progressive science. Yes the Communist Party may be in a different guise but it is alive and thriving.
Posted at 2007-10-15 23:28:28 [PermaLink]Dawg banned 8b, eh?
Funny... I'd be happy to see Johnny Baglow banned from this site for exactly the reasons he gives for banning 8b. When "Mr." Baglow permits 8b on his site, we could lift the ban.
It's obvious as to why Baglow fears 8b's comments... 8b has this cruel habit of using Dawg's own stupid comments as weapons. Those, when properly struck, hurt the most.
Damian, I do mean this, and I request it with sincerity. Please let us ban Dawg until he behaves like a mentsch and lets 8b back.
Ran; this site needs a whipping boy. If the Dr.'s in the Dawghouse who'd we have to pick a bone with?
Dara's mellowed too much...
Ran,
Thanks for the support. However, I must agree with DaninVan.
I consider Daimnation a place of higher learning. Let's call it Columbia U. and furthermore, let's imagine Dr. Dawg as our very own Ahmadinejad. Only instead of him saying there are no gays in Iran, Dawg sees no racism on the Left.
I guess that makes me a dissident in exile until his own personal Caliphate has been restored.
I wouldn't want to stretch this analogy too far. I doubt he is working on building a nuke in his basement but I would avoid driving in the vicinity of his neighbourhood for a while...just in case.
So let's make Dr. Dawg feel welcome. I invite everyone to join me in giving him a heartfelt Bronx cheer.
8bEbgcBBi: By the way, the good Doctor has replaced the lynching photo at his post--progress, I guess.

And not a word, of course, about Jena. The silence from this side of the blogosphere is...remarkable. Or not.
Mark, this place is going seriously downhill. I banned Eights after he camped out on a rather long thread at my place, with numerous interventions, getting more and more incomprehensible and sillier and sillier, (OK, at least I'm not usually *incomprehensible*, so hold your comments), and finally started to make indecent comments to one of the other commenters. I gave him a warning, which he ignored, and then I banned him.
His behaviour over here (and I still think he's Ran's sockie) has been better, and I actually thought his reappearance might herald better sense. I was quickly disabused of that, however, in an exchange on global warming, in which he talked about average sea-level rise. I pointed out that most of the rise took place 6000 years ago, and then another spike in the past century, but he blathered on about averages as though he was making a point. So I just stopped responding.
Anyhow, Mark (and Damian), if you want to ban me, for whatever reason, please go right ahead. In fact, you merely have to ask.
Well, now I've given Eights a chance to look noble. Damn. I get the feeling I was never in any danger of being banned; I took Ran too seriously (and this, I promise, will never happen again).
I "fear" Eights' comments? Why, no, Ran, dream on. I do find him (and his comments) tedious and disingenuous and repetitive--as when he asserted, over and over, that I was citing UK Justice Burton, the judge who found Gore's film pretty sound, as an authority on climate science. (Nope: he just assessed the evidence in front of him. And the Right got that assessment dead wrong.)
As noted, I didn't ban Eights for disagreeing with me--my place is haunted by trolls, and I don't usually ban them--or even for being disingenuous. But, frankly, Ran, it's none of your damn business what I do at my place, and you can shove your comments here.
Damian,
Rationalizations aside,
Thy will be done!

Dr. Dawg,
"(Nope: he just assessed the evidence in front of him. And the Right got that assessment dead wrong.)"
So then you do believe he is an authority after all. How else could he assess that the Right was dead wrong?
Contradiction!
Oh, bullshit. He's no more an authority on climate science than any thinking person who looks at evidence and weighs it. No more so, in fact, than I or anyone else who accepts the consensus.
And he didn't assess, obviously, the Right's bizarre reaction to his judgement. He's a judge, not a time-traveller. Give your head a shake, or learn to read, or whatever it takes.
