Ya know... Gravel may be odd, but that's because he's honest. Wacky, very wrong on a lot of things, right on others... but he's honest. What you see is whom you'll get. That much I admire in him, even if I'd not want him in the White House.
I miss Bob Stanfield. He too, struck me as a fundamentally honest man. Not quite as, er, colourful as Gravel, perhaps.
Funny how things can change. In the past it would have been the demoncracks with so many running and such a varied bunch but now it is the republicans. It has to be good for the brand to have so many quality people running.
