Somehow driving a Smart Car through drifting snow on icy, snow covered roads doesn't seem very "Smart" - perhaps that is why SUV's are more popular. Duh....

A lot of people RV during the course of the year. Regular vehicles configured for fuel efficiency are no good for towing. What's left? Pickups, SUVs and vans. I'm not saying that everyone who's buying a pick-up, SUV or van, RVs - a good deal is hard to resist for anyone - but RVers don't have too many alternatives, not for those that actually use campgrounds and camp.
