We will probably never know who was directly responsible for Benazir Bhutto's death. We do know that the Taliban and Al-Queada had made deaths threats against her if she returned to Pakistan, but she was also a thorn in Musharraf's side. What is interesting though is that she was assassinated as soon as the state of emergency and emergency security measures were lifted.

There are a lot of political strongmen in this world who've survived multiple assassination attempts, Musharrif among them, by being cautious. Very very cautious. Unfortunately, that's not a crowd pleaser.
