Comments: The incoherent and ignorant M. Dion

I thought whoever wrote Helena's statement for her did her a big disservice, especially if they powers that be plan on putting her on tv. Unfortunately it doesn't look to politicize the troops further, and isn't it true that the Prime Minister NEVER visited the troops as Opposition Leader? They are going to throw that right into Helena's face.

"His subtext is that some thirty fatalities a year are just too much for Canadians"

Apparently the number of murders in Toronto, almost three times that figure, doesn't register with Mr. Dion.

Where does it say Dion dose not care about Torontos Murder rate? And How can you compare street and domestic crime to a war? Your comparison is very black and white. I'm not voting Libral and Never have in the past on any level(nor NDP) but at least Dion will speak(as rough as his english is)to the press While Mr. Harper cowars out the back door with his sheep so he doesnt have to actually take a few tough questions form our "Libral" media, and actually acknowledge we are a nation of living people and not a nation of "numbers and tax cuts" Hes a Paul Martin who hides away.. and soon he'll be put in the same pasture and they can write a memoir of there combined terms in office. We need some real Leadership in this country. Say what you want about past leaders of all political stripes Martin and Harper are the worst.

Having read Ignatieff's books, I should say that he of all people would appreciate Canada's commitment to defeat the taleban to enable Afghanistan to rebuild. His statement that "he has seen the taleban oppressing the Afghan people with his own eyes in 1997" seemed to make Dion very uncomfortable. And Ignatieff's body language while he was following Dion around! I think Ignatieff is coming to the realization that he joined the wrong party. If Manley Panel recommends a stay the course strategy beyond 2009 (keeping fighting while rebuilding and training, IOW "get the job done"), I am certain Ignatieff would support it, Rae and Dion will not, and then we have another split in the LPC.
