"Why are so many Canadians dead sqeamish about Afghanistan yet apparently willing to taste blood over Darfur? "

Duh!

Because it's always easy to claim something else in defense of your ideology rather than defend that reality once it occurs.

Just observe our own resident Lefties while they ignore communist/leftist atrocities (Cambodia, USSR, China, Cuba, etc.) while focusing on RELATIVELY minor debacles like Chile, Iran under Shah, etc.

Ignorance is bliss! Denial is a river in Egypt!

My my how superior we are to those blood thirsty Yanks!

Apparantly, they are playing to a base that is still labouring under the false impression that we will be peacekeeping there..

No doubt they will all go for a sh*t when we drop a parachute capable company in there to secure areas for future troop deployments..

All the while, you know..killing lots of people..
But..shhh ..don't tell anyone, we're peacekeepers!

Psst... I'll let you in on a secret... Elizabeth May is a cretin. Stupid beyond belief. No bloody cognizance of international affairs, like ALL lefties. She's the poster child for chlorination of the gene pool.

Nope!! I think you're missing the whole thing about Lizzy. It's Liberalism!! Y'know, the mental illness Liberalism.

Liberalism: The condition of reality being that which you think it should be or are planing it to be. What it actually is has no bearing on the reality of those affliceted with Liberalism.

I rather like the idea of a middle power rapid reaction force; but somehow I can't quite imagine that Liz and I would agree on the battle order.

Me: The Airborne reconstituted

Liz: Massed United Church Choirs singing Kumbaya

Me: JTF2x20

Liz: Stephen Lewis and the waving finger

Me: Bagpipes

Liz: Acoustic guitars

Liz: Acoustic guitars ... Yikes!

So, in the interest of not traumatizing this old rocker who still loves acoustic guitar music ... can we change that to say, the pan flute?

Thanks kindly.

:)

At any rate, it's better than the Massachusetts Green Party, which *supports* Sudan against the Darfuris!
