Comments: "Collectible Car of the Year"
Comment by John B:

Mark: If you like old British sports cars I suggest you try to make to the British Car Day ( [External Link]) if possible. There have been as many as 1,000 vehicles. My favourites (apart from the early E-Type Jags) are the Austin Healeys 100-3000 series. The Sunbeam Tigers are kind of nice too.

John B: My brother-in-law had a Healey 3000 a few years ago. Took me for a drive in Norfolk--wonderful except when it scraped the tarmac, age or something.

As for Alfas: in 1965 when my father was driving in South Africa on a (very good) two lane blacktop I easily dozed off at the imperial ton.

Mark: Healeys scrapped when new. I think their ground clearance was about 2 inches. ;-)

This is the car that really took me by surprise - I didn't expect it. The guy and his wife drove it up from Arkansas and that alone deserved a prize. I can't recall if it was the version that did 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds. [External Link]
