The Rothschild globalists have almost taken over Canada vs the US Rockefeller globalists.
Posted at 2008-03-02 15:38:12 [PermaLink]You may have what you call Canadian Rednecks out east, but out west here we have Canadians who are in fact US rednecks. I'm waiting to see a vote McCain sticker on the back of a truck out here, I've already seen one decrying the separation of church and state.
Funny how patriotism seems to mean ripping off every cheesy, rednecky pronouncement from xtian or talk radio down south and putting a maple leaf on it. Oh yes and if the government should return to being slightly less right wing than it is, then separation is once again on the agenda.
Sometimes the conservative definition of patriotism seems to be, do what I want and don't try and change stuff even for the better, cos if you do I'll take my ball home and cry.
Being a redneck is nothing to be proud of whereas having a redneck most certainly is.
"Often, as we travel the United States, we pass folks who stick their patriotism on their bumpers - the stars and stripes pasted on their cars to advertise their unthinking love of America. For many Canadians, this overt patriotism is decidely foreign."
?!?!? Maybe within the country's borders, perhaps, although I don't think even that is the case. But Canadians abroad wear more flags than Evel Knievel, with complete obliviousness to the people laughing at them.
"4. Defer to anyone with a British accent"
A sensible trait in my view.
Canadian rednecks wouldn't dream of having their kids serve in the armed forces and certainly didn't serve themselves.

The upper echelons of society hardly ever serve in the military, this includes the rednecks in the states too. Bush, Cheney etc. And a good deal of those with conservative voting records.
Only in the UK does it seem that the toffs are willing to spill blood with those from other classes.
I guess another reason to defer to those with the accent, we all fight.
I usually don't criticise rednecks,as I are one.....But that list bites donkey testes,as the only thing on it I do is number 7(cause the price of butter is nuts)....And as for Swedish things, the only good thing out of there were some of the old time loggers and a bikini team. And the volvo is the vehicle of the anti-Christ and/or left wing bungholes....

Speak for yourself, pommie. President Bush and several members of his cabinet (past and present) served in the military. Currently, 29% of U.S. Senators and 22.5% of Congressmen served in the U.S. military. (Both Senators from my home state of Virginia saw combat.) 33.3% of U.S. Supreme Court Justices served in the military. [External Link] The current GOP candidate for President was a guest of the Hanoi Hilton for 5 years. At least ten members of Congress have children currently serving in the military.

Not to demean your efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan, but the British military is puny and few of the current British elite have served -- the figurehead British Royal family excepted.
@ Bruce: I'm teetering on the knife edge trying to decide if you're pointing to GWB's "military service" was satire or meant seriously.
Mark C:
1) Toronto-centric much?
2) Generalize much
3) This sort of thing is beneath you.
4) yes yes, lefties have no sense of humor... blah blah
"I'm teetering on the knife edge trying to decide if you're pointing to GWB's 'military service' was satire or meant seriously."
I love the snide ignorance of that remark. Bush served in the Air National Guard flying the F102 "Deuce", a mid-1950s era interceptor, beginning in 1968 - the height of the Vietnam War.
The "controversy" about his service is political and arose only many years later in the heat of a political campaign. Nothing of substance was ever proven, and when CBS decided to air an expose they used forged documents from a source known to be of dubious reliability - and then lied about it. Dan Rather, who pushed the story, lost his job as a result.
It also remains uncontroverted that Bush volunteered for service Vietnam, but that in 1968 the Air Force decided to pull F102s from Vietnam. By the early 70s the U.S. was winding down operations in Vietnam, the military had begun downsizing, and their was a surplus of pilots. There simply wasn't much demand for Air National Guard F102 pilots and experienced Vietnam veterans were given preference.
If you feel President Bush's flying a jet fighter doesn't count as "military service", then how about John McCain's "military service"?
Bush failed to show up for at least one medical (possibly two). As I understand it medicals for pilots are standing orders no?
Can you show me when McCain failed to follow any order?
And gosh, did he really fly in the National Guard? Really? We don't get the TV or the internet under my rock...

Are you now an expert in U.S. military orders and law circa 1972? Bush had permission to move to Alabama in 1972, he skipped his flight physical because the assignment did not require him to fly, and he would have had to requalify for the F102 after his 6 month assignment, which would have been a waste given the short time he had left on his commitment. Like other Air National Guard pilots, he got out early because the U.S. had a surplus of pilots.
In any event, your snide comment implied that Bush had no real military service, which is patently untrue. He flew a Deuce, logging 625 hours in the cockpit, and was ranked in the top 10 percent of his squadron. He flew numerous missions, including NORAD runs over Canada, and volunteered for duty in Vietnam. (His unit did send flyers to Vietnam.)
"your snide comment implied that Bush had no real military service"
Please look up the difference between "imply" and "infer".
