Great story and a testament to how effective Canada's brand can be in attracting highly qualified workers.

So if this how things could be, somebody explain why our current immigration system is bringing in 4 unskilled workers for every one with skills, and why their pay has fallen from parity with resident Canadians twenty years ago to just 80% today?

Answer: the politicians turned a potential goldmine of talented immigrants into a massive boondoggle that sees 77% of immigrants becoming a net fiscal drain on the economy.

The problem is many of these Brit officers are forming cliques within the service and not exactly blending with the rest of the service itself, Personally I like the Irish and Scotish officers coming into town alot more, very social and easy to get along with.

Britain's most prominent police blogger left to join Edmonton's police force a few months ago.

A minor point "Your city Government" maybe, not ours.
Also regarding the Met, be careful those guys turned against the rest of their country when the overtime was approved and they acted as Maggie's boot-boys.
Your previous commenter was right, you are better of with the Celts and the Northerners as those from the South East of England will follow the PM's shilling regardless of morality. Community building is not something that is big with the Met, it is with those form the North and West.

Yeah, community building has served northern England so well.

As for Maggie, one can only imagine the state of the UK without her reforms, though we probably won't have to imagine for long considering the way Blighty is going under Labour.
