Comments: Ceasefire demanded
Comment by Michelle:

The war of public opinion has not been won, or lost, or anything, because the vast majority of the voting public outside of the blogosphere and certain media circles know nothing of the HRC fiasco.

There is a vast army of baby future Stalins in our schools, universities, and public service just waiting to leap back into thought-police action. Against them stand a few bloggers and brilliant loudmouths, a few publishers and editors, and a principled politician or two (Liberals, I am sad to say)

At best we have a small victory. More realistically a ceasefire while the thought police work on a new strategy. But no "war" has been won.

When will I declare victory? When Barabara Hall is fired. When the phrase "Human Rights Commission" is greeted with a smirk, or outright derision. When a federal inquiry is launched into what has gone wrong with the Human Rights commission system, and concludes that the process has done more harm than good, and should be relegated to the criminal court system, with similar rules of process and evidence applied.

Until then, we are just waiting for a return to power of the NDP/Liberals who will bring the whole thing back to life, and worse than its ever been.

Michelle, do the math. How pray tell are the Liberals ever going to win a majority? You have to stop reading the G&M and listening to the CBC as well as stop associating with people with poli-sci degrees from Dork University or the mini-Dorks nationwide.

So, Millie, you are saying that the Libs will never again return to power?

I'd sell my soul to the devil if that could be made true, and call it a good trade for the sake of my children and their offspring, but governing parties aren't permanent. The libs are pathetic in Quebec right now, but what if that reverses?

What if they form an alliance with the NDP? We must never assume because of 3 years of reasonably successful minority government that PMSH will always be there. Already we have dicke@d$ like Nicholls and other "old schoolers" who think we need to ram through ideological stuff that is certain to sink the ship.

I certainly don't watch CBC, and I read the Post more than the Globe. But I talk to co-workers and customers and the Liberal mindset is in their heads deeply, and voters memory tends to be short.

Anyway, we are off topic.

Ceasefire, Hudna, same difference. The HRCs must be demolished.

Incidentally.... the last three words before entering a post on this site are "ready to submit?" I just get uneasy reading that. Perhaps "ready to post" might be better. LOL

Millie: "How pray tell are the Liberals ever going to win a majority?"

When you have the CBC, Toronto Star and Globe and Mail all working for the Libranos.

John B, believe it or not there's a large Canadian majority who never pay the slightest bit of attention to what the Lib loving Toronto CBC media axis has to say. If you listen to what journalists and poli-sci profs or civil servants dependent on confiscating your dime for a living have to say you will be inclined to think otherwise but if you ask a working engineer or someone running a business aka really running not "governing" the country you'll get a very different perspective on the way the world operates and trust me it's not the Lady of Shallot's mirrored image of the GTO "visionaries".
