Behold the predictable result of Canadian libleft multiculturalism. Even if the RCMP had'nt been (deliberately?) underfunded and undermanned the last decade and a half, they'd still be reluctant to take these groups on, knowing that the terrorist apologists in the ndlibloc would immediately trot out the standard "racist" screed, to be endlessly repeated by the useful idiots in the indoctrinated Canadian media.

I'm still in a state of shock over Picton's conviction./sarc off
Good on you Mark for giving Kim Bolan's article more exposure. While I'm not a fan of the Liberals (what - I surprised you), I do have a lot of respect for Ujjal Dosanjh for taking on the Sikh extremists.
Posted at 2008-05-04 19:52:42 [PermaLink]So a few people spout off in the comments section, why is that an issue? all of a sudden its a national crisis. Journalists are trembling in their boots?
Sikhs in Canada are legally and peacefully pressing for what they believe in and which is their right as Canadians. To start exaggerating some foolish comments on a couple of blog posts doesn't serve any purpose other than to vilify and stereotype an entire community.
Just to clarify before anyone misconstrues what I wrote. I, in now way support anyone making threats of violence against anyone for expressing their opinion.
I do support legal opposition and demonstration which is a hallmark of democracy.
Those individuals who may have made remarks which include threats, in my opinion, are fools who are shooting their mouths off. Any legitimate threat should be investigated.
In my opinion, however, the fact that charges weren't laid is probably because those threats were considered harmless. Likely because the people making them are juveniles acting like, well, juveniles.
When it's whites the RCMP and Sikhs sing a different tune...
"Richmond RCMP Cpl. Peter Thiessen called the attack on the youth "absolutely disgusting" and vowed at a press conference Tuesday that police will hunt down the people responsible.
"We're working with the [youth's] family -- they're absolutely devastated by this," Thiessen said.
Thiessen said police are investigating the incident as a hate crime, as defined under the Criminal Code.
"It's one thing to assault and rob someone," he said, "but this takes things to a whole other level."
Thiessen said the suspects were playing basketball in the courts behind Grauer elementary when the teen victim walked by. They called out a racial slur, then ran after him and punched him several times in the head.
Thiessen said the victim believes an X-Acto knife was held to his throat while he was kicked in the side and robbed of his wallet and personal papers, while the thieves demanded money and marijuana."
"Balwant Sanghera, spokesman for the Sikh Society of the Lower Mainland, said the incident has "traumatized" Richmond's Sikh community.
"I think the people who committed this heinous crime need help," he said.
"This is not human."
Of course, it was all a hoax. When will Canadians press for their interests?
"To start exaggerating some foolish comments on a couple of blog posts doesn't serve any purpose other than to vilify and stereotype an entire community"
You'd have a better argument if that same community didn't have a history of violent reprisals against those who criticize them (Tara Singh Hayer, Dosanjh himself, just for starters), violent acts to intimidate governments (Air India comes to mind, and the Narita bombing), or threats of violence to get their way (attempted deportation of Laibar Singh). Sorry, Kaptaan, but it's not the media that's vilifying anybody - it's the Sikh community and its tolerance for these activities, and the community's collective unwillingness to confront or even identify the perpetrators, that is generating an adverse reputatation.
