Comments: The jihad that wasn't
Comment by Kathy Shaidle:

Oh yeah, NOW they're pretending they don't care, and are shutting up/lying like they always do. Muslims typically bitch, moan and mumble, and do the 'adult' equivalent of holding their breath until they get their way. As soon as they sense a backlash, they lose their balls and wimp out. "Oh it wasn't us."

I don't trust them either way.

But that doesn't explain why Muslim owned shops refused to display the poster in the first place.

Sorry Kathy, I think you are out to lunch on this one. You make it sound as if all Muslims are part of the hurt feelings club.
Islamist extremists don't speak for all Muslim anymore than Evangelical extremists speak for all Christians.

Ceci n'est pas une pipe.

Congrats to Councillor Asif for getting his name in the paper, I'm sure that you have made an impression on the voters, though not the one you were hoping for.

Don't waste your time with Kathy, she's a dyed in the wool bigot who knows everything she cares to about a person by the circumstances of their birth.

From some cleric in Iran.
"
Dogs are considered unclean in Islamic law and the spread of dog ownership in Westernised secular circles in Iran is frowned upon by the religious establishment.

"I demand the judiciary arrest all dogs with long, medium or short legs - together with their long-legged owners," Hojatolislam Hassani is quoted as saying in the reformist Etemad newspaper. "

Problem with Islam is, the nuttier the cleric the more followers they have .

Comment by Green Tory:

Sorry Damian but your 100% wrong here.

Muslims, in general, dont like dogs.

If you dont understand that, then you're living in a dream world with the Red Tory.

Muslims are the biggest threat to mankind since Hitler.

We'll see in the future.

Muslims are the biggest bunch oh homicidal killers in the world.

It seems on a daily basis that they're either cutting off someone's head or their raping 7 year old girls.

They're a disgusting bunch of animals.

Comment by John:

Most of what we know about Muslims comes from the Western media and non-Muslim people talking about Muslims. Get out and talk to some Muslims....they really are people just like you and I and not just caricatures in the media. Really.

The real offensive issue is that the police apologized. How absolutely lame.

Comment by Millie Woods:

John, get thee to a good grammar - just like you and I - ouch.
But seriously while you're at it get a good history - politically correct Muslims and their non-Muslim spokesmen have been pushing the line about western colonialism and the creation of the state of Israel as the source of all their present backwardness and woes. However, since western colonialism in the ME dates from the end of WWI and the previous caretakers of the unruly ME were the Ottoman Turks, that's a pretty wishy washy foundation for western guilt. Similarly Islamic areas in Asia cannot blame the creation of the state of Israel for their appalling backwardness which leaves us with the notion that maybe the fact that all Islamic countries are disasters has to do with Islam!

Comment by Ellie in T.O.:

Yes, in the comments I've seen on the Net about this "incident" there was just as much anger at the authorities for caving. If the complaint came only from a single individual, then that makes their cringing surrender worse, not better.

Comment by John Palubiski:

If islamists wish to make even more headway in the U.K., they'll have to learn to remain quiet and not demonstrate and riot at the least provocation.

Mr Asif's pro-pos were made in a heady moment of mental inadvertence, and therefore risked giving away the game.

The appeals for calm, then, are are in fact calls to go against islam's very nature, calls to forestall the 'reward', in the hope of eventually hitting the jackpot, that of Islam's complete domination.

In the mean time, Islam's disgusting ugliness, its vulgar, backward, tribal nature and its arrogant, supremacist mindset must be kept under wraps at all costs.

Needlessly upsetting the filthy, impure kuffur is bad strategy.

Oh! And this just in:

Why would I, as a small business owner hire somebody that takes a 1/2 doz. breaks a day, at seemingly random times, over and above the coffee and lunch breaks? "Hey Ali, grab the other end of this beam...what do mean you're busy?"

Comment by Dr.Dawg:

"While the parties disagreed about how much time Mahdi spends at prayer while at work, they agreed that the punch-clock indicates he takes four minutes a day.

"Accordingly, the company has been deducting 20 minutes pay per week from Mahdi's wages."

Someone's being petty here, and it ain't Ali.

And you forgot to mention denial of bereavement leave because his baby girl didn't live for a full 24 hours.

Comment by DaninVan:

Dawg; you talkin' to me? I didn't mention the bereavement because that wasn't the point I was making.
Four minutes in an office environment may not seem like much (x5 daily) but when you're part of a crew that's a bunch of guys standing around with their thumbs you-know-where waiting for divine inspiration. (x5)
You still not clear? Mr. Religiosity is the crane operator 8 storeys up; a crew of steel workers are waiting for him to swing a girder into place. Oops, prayer time, down to the ground, pray, then back up again, mmmmm... 15 minutes sound about right?...for the entire crew...X5...every day!
When the HRC finds in Ali's favour, and they will, that'll be the norm, not the exception.
