Comments: Elmasry under investigation
Comment by Cynic:

"..They are part of the Israeli army, even if they have civilian clothes. The same, if they are women in the army . . . anybody above 18 is a part of the Israeli popular army," Elmasry, a computer ..."

Haven't we had that bit about Israeli kids will grow up to be soldiers?

Imagine if the Israelis used the same logic.
All those Pali kids being schooled into becoming a 'shaheed'.

I agree with Penny that we should be allowed to say whatever we like but this chap has crossed the line into advocating murder.....

Take for example myself.......I say that Islam is a evil vile murderous ideology which it is.......and I wish it destroyed......however I am not advocating death to muslims but to an ideology....

This muslim on the other hand is actually advocating death to people......that is a HUGE
difference.

They should strip him of his citzenship and send him back to darul Islam pronto!!

Comment by Mike:

"I'm still amazed that a prominent Muslim leader would say something like this."

It betrays Elmasry's confidence that he could say it and not suffer adverse consequences. If Elmasry escapes meaningful censure, it will only reinforce the view that he had every reason for such confidence. And what does that say about the moral relativism that infects Canadian society?

An optimist might note that Elmasry advocated only the murder of Israelis over 18, while apparently sparing those under that age. A pessimist could be forgiven for thinking that Elmasry privately makes no such distinction, but isn't quite ready to say so for the public record.

Not yet anyway, but it wouldn't be much of a leap from where he's at now.

I very much hope that this is a comment taken completely out of context...but just in case it is not, I wonder where on earth you would ever come to such a view?

Islam is a religion of absolute Peace. It is based on the foundations of both Judaism and Christianity and quite simply extends them.

The fact that there are certain *cultures* which abuse their own members, spew hatred (and for the most part are absolute hypocrits) all the while claiming to be "Islamic" is no reason to hold the actual religion (philosophy!) itself responsible.

There are many, many examples of this kind of hypocrasy associated with most religions around the world (Jonestown and Waco as examples).

Don't let CNN's depiction of non-american-speaking cultures fool you into believing that one BILLION people in the world are all idiots. There are at least a few of us who have actually *read* the Quran, have taken to heart its message of peace, who understand that *culture* and *faith* are two VERY DISPERATE issues, and who hope dearly to live each day in peace, helping others, being kind to everyone REGARDLESS OF FAITH (the Quran explicitly says that one should love their non-Muslim neighbours as their own kin).
