Well, I hope it does some good. The situation in Darfur is dire, and this American does wish to congratulate Canada for trying to do something. I'm glad that it seems like my government helped.

A fine vehicle for police/constabulary-type operations but pretty much useless as battle-taxis (high silhouette, thin armour). Of course if you intend to fight it out with Janjaweed riding horses and jeeps, there is nothing wrong with them, other than being too tight for more than 4 trrops in the back.
The real operative question is whether or not they sent them equipt, or stripped down? My guess is the latter. Expect them to sit in a vehicle park in Khartoum while the AU tries to beg, borrow and steal the machine-guns and spare tires that you need to operate them. After a month they should be stripped clean by the locals.
I'm really sick of the mainstream media being caught with their pants down on stuff like this. Last night (no lie) CTV had a story about "gnome napping" and "drinking too much water can make you sick" but no story about the "warmongering" Canadian government.
What a joke.

One Ingrid Jones was on the case of this a few months ago.

I'm glad to see this step. I hate to admit it since I'm loathe to give kudos to the Liberals, but Martin has been rising in my estimation lately. The Afghanistan commitment was impressive and just recently he spoke out at the Jewish Communities conference in Toronto and chastised the UN for its anti-Israel bias.

It's not really that odd if we accept that we live in a corrupt one party state and the media outlets are financed by party members. Same old, same old.
