Comments: Pat Robertson gets it right...
Comment by segacs:

He didn't "get it right". It's nice he apologized, but he never actually said he was wrong. He only conceded his remarks were "insensitive at the time". Not quite the same thing. He's still insisting that he was right to think that Sharon's illness was a divine punishment. So no, he didn't "get it right" at all.

Sari has a point... Pat did the right thing by admitting his blunder, but he still has a critical quantum leap to make: He must admit his error.

So, in step, I'll apologize for being so insensitive. Er, wrong. Heh.

Ran. [Now was that so tough? - Ed.]

Well yeah, what with so many trolls running around these days!

Still not going to get approval on the theme park the Jews just pulled.

I'm Jewish, but in that area near Tiberias (I was just there last week) you can almost see Jesus, Peter and Paul going about their lives. (Except that I don't think Mary Magdelene lived in the kibbutz that Magdala is now...) Putting a freaking theme park there is shameful, and hopefully this whole Robertson thing was God's way of derailing it.

It's kind of like people who say "I'm sorry I offended you". What they're really saying is "I'm not sorry I said what I said, I'm just sorry your sensitive ass was offended by it".

Its not a fucking theme park monsignor, its a tourism depot, for a few reasons, one of them protection from the terrorists who routinely target Christians. But then again you would know. You were there "just last week". I was there for many, many weeks on a tour with the UN (I am a CF Infanteer and UN Peacekeeper).
Good on Robertson, if you had read the Bible, maybe you would have remembered the thing with good old Herod...

That's what I get for believing well of some people. Man, *I* got it wrong. (Sigh.)

Sorry, but you are either a) confusing the Tiberias / Kfar Nahum area with Tyre or Sidon or something like that or b) completely off your rocker. I can't recall a single terrorist attack in that region (although there probably have been some), let alone "terrorists who routinely target Christians", and unless Hezbollah has set up shop in Rosh Pina a "tourism depot" is hardly going to protect anyone. I'm also unaware of any UN peacekeepers there -- what decade was this?

Comment by Andrew Ian Dodge:

Pat is seriously losing it and his fellow fundies must be going a bit nuts with his idiotic statements. His latest comments about Sharon rival Harry Belafootinit in Venezuela. Robertson is the poster child for Christian fundie loons and I think he likes that role.

Not specifically a UN mission in that area, but when we were passing through...This was about 4 years ago. Also there have been a ton of attacks, I have several friends who have witnessed it, and I believe Hizzbolah took responsibility, but I may not be remembering correctly. Also, a Christian theme park is not at all what he's planning, maybe you should check for yourselves...
