All right lets bring this home. I'm still a bit scared.... on election day results will swing towards the Liberals, just because we're a liberal country and there will be alot of irrational fear in the booth... But I think were up enough to pull this one out.... I've really come to despise Martin in the last few years.

Posted at 2006-01-23 05:14:22 [PermaLink]I'm not sure that the information Election Prediction relies on to base its prediction is all that detailed. I check it out pretty regularly, and it's a useful resource, but some of the posters there are just completely out to lunch, and they argue their points with far more conviction than their actual knowledge appears to warrant.
Basically, they are predicting that the Liberal vote will hold more strongly than the polls suggest. If that's true, those predictions could be reasonably close. But if the Tories do win by the margin Ipsos-Reid, SC, etc suggest, there will be a whole slew of ridings (in Ontario in particular) where those predictions will not pan out and the site will be off by a fair margin. We shall soon see, in any event!
5 minutes to vote? More like 45 in my case. I tell ya, if the country is being run the way the election is being run, we're in serious trouble.
Posted at 2006-01-23 08:50:16 [PermaLink]From the democraticspace.com seat predictions... Here is how it breaks down.... I never double checked this.
Conservatives
125 seats predicted
24 Narrow wins predicted 5%
17 within striking range 5 points
Librano’s
97 seats predicted
21 Narrow wins predicted
22 Close wins predicted
54 Safe or better seats predicted
Just voted for Mr. Harper here in his riding in Calgary......I'm predicting around 130 seats for the Conservatives.......could care a less about the rest.......will be looking for sure a some kind of Conservative minority govt. which is still a helluva improvement over the scumbag liberals and their NDP allies!!
My Ex Muslim buddy called me last night to ask me to go down to the Telus center tonight for the celebrations....God Bless him........Ha ha......I'm not sure if I want too fight the traffic and all but it could be quite the celebration for Calgary's first Prime Minister....
I want Martin tested for banned substances! I thought he was down for the count after that last debate.
Harper's weak performance, in the face of Martin's rise-from-the-dead in the last week, may well have cost him a few seats. Not everyone is as gung-ho for change as we'd like to think.
1) I worry that voters are using the polls to scare the libs, but will pull the lever for them anyway.
2) If the gun owners in Canada would form an NRA, grow a backbone, and stop being embarassed and ashamed for liking to shoot, they could be a factor in Canadian politics AND get their natural rights back.
3) I'm disturbed by how well anti-Americanism seems to play in Canadian politics. Michael Barone says not to pay attention to it, since it's just electioneering. But the fact that there is a receptive audience for it is the problem.
We don't NEED a National Rifle Assoc; We also don't need the Firearms Registry. Things were just fine...excluding the mass importation of illegal weapons from the US...BEFORE the Liberals started throwing taxpayers dollars on the bonfire. What we DO have is a wuss ass justice system that won't stand up for the law abiding citizen (ie the victim).
I Googled this Victim and this was about the only substantial info that popped up[External Link]
That's just pathetic...
