If Norman Kember is correct and the kidnappers' motive was criminal, the public certainly wasn't made aware of any monetary ransom demands.

I'm all for having idiots pulling stupid stunts pay for their rescue. At one point, the Canadian government considered requiring people trying to reach the North Pole on mountain bikes, walking, etc. to post a bond in case they needed to be rescued. I'm not sure if this went into effect or if Nunavut now requires a similar guarantee.

I don't know if pigheadedness and an apparent desire to prove [Christians] can be as good martyrs (if necessary) as Muslims can be equated with stupidity, but the Christian "peacekeepers" should be prepared to suffer the full consequences of their decision to keep returning to areas of conflict. Coalition troops have better things to do. That's what they signed up for and that's what their families expect them to be doing. Anything else, including rescuing inconsiderate Christians, is superfluous.

Again, let it be noted that these scumbags of CPT are not remotely christian in any sense of the word...closer to marxism then anything else..

The world would be a better place if they had never been rescued....you will note that CPT is on the side of evil in every conflict....they are as much the enemy to us as is the Islamic ideology!

Pure vermin!!!

Not only are they ignorant of the true motives of these insurgents, sorry freedom fighters, but their theology and understanding of the Bible is suspect too. On their site CPT refer to going back in to help their Muslim "brothers". Jesus in the good Samaritan story refers to the Samaritans as "neighbours" and this group had a closer relationship to the Jews than Islam has to Christianity. But I suppose they are more interested in remaining faithful to left-wing dogmas and multi-faith claptrap than Christ. If they really wanted to help their "brothers", why don't they go to Afghanistan and argue the case for fellow Christian Abdul Rahman. Or try Sudan or Nigeria. Or Saudi Arabia. Or Gaza or West bank. Fat lot of good they are doing in Iraq...

Comment by Bruce Rheinstein:

The perceived ingratitude of the rescued “Peacemakers”, especially after the murder of one of their own, is a greater public relations disaster than anything they could ever have hoped to achieve against the coalition and current Iraq government. Karl Rove couldn’t have planned it any better.

Albertanator: "closer to marxism then anything else.. "

Why, just a few days ago they were similar to Islam. I guess my evaluation of your rating system was correct, you equate groups of people solely according to how much frothing at the mouth they cause you. Unless of course you can explain your latest brain fart and compare and contrast marxism with the CPT.

Dara,

Osama is parroting much of the western lefty's talking points. They may not be the same but Osama is smart enough to play his useful idiots very well. He knows the self-loathing anti-western sentiments of the left and tailors his propaganda to suit the CNN news cycle.

The do have some things in common though. Both western lefties and the islamofascists hate western society, culture, and religion and want it destroyed in their preferred manner.

James Loney, Christian Peacemaker, is welcomed back home by his gay lover???

(Not that there's anything wrong with that)

"The two Canadians kidnapped with Mr Kember - Harmeet Sooden, 32, and Jim Loney, 41 - were said to have been co-operative at first but less so on arriving at the British embassy in Baghdad after being given the opportunity to wash, eat and rest."

Should have never have given them the opportunity to wash, eat and rest until they spilled their miserable ungrateful guts!!
