Strange when you consider the Marsh Arabs' 5,000 yr. old way of life being destroyed by not enough water over the landscape, and our natives' being ruined by too much. (yes, I know the marshes are being refilled...and the reserve will eventually dry out.)
Whether or not you accept humans as a primary cause of Global Warming, there's no question we're in for some serious changes in 'lifestyle'. We were sitting around for ONE HOUR (noonish)yesterday, outdoors in the sun, and my neighbor had sunburn on her scalp!
SPF 50 where art thou?
Gee I dunno, why don't they just... MOVE!??!
I feel the same about Katrina victims. If you knowingly live below sea level, I just can't drum up that much sympathy for you. Somehow the Irish figured out how to move to another country during the potato famine, but these other folks are are magically stuck in place due to some, what, voodoo curse?
The real tragedy is that these people leave themselve to be victimized. In the story on the news, a woman complains that all her stuff in the basement was ruined, for the third time. Really, how many more times will it take before they stop putting their stuff in the basement?
