Muslims never miss a chance to confirm every stereotype of them as primitive, violent, and lacking any sense of perspective.

Great going guys ! Prove that the Pope was wrong in implying that yours is a violent creed by... threatening and carrying out violence.

So lets stop discussing whether the pope should have apologized or not, and discuss the truth or falsehood of the statement. Did Mohammond bring anything good to the Muslim religion or only evil?

It could get more people shot by Mohammand's peace loving group of followers, but it is worth discussing.

Whats to understand? Understand and obey muzlims or they'll kill you or or a nun or a bunch of children. Either as long as they have an excuse to kill.

CBC news had a debate last night between some Islamic spokesman or other and another man supporting the Pope and free speech. I came in on the middle of it, so missed a lot, but the Islamic guy came across as utterly unyielding. He whined at one point that Muslims are "under attack" all over the world, demonstrating his complete disconnection from reality. As Mark Steyn would say, it's Muslims attacking everyone else: Muslims vs Hindus, Muslims vs Christians, Muslims vs Jews, Muslims vs secular pluralists.

And one of these days, Everyone Else is going to say, "That's it!! Let's all band together and CREAM those S.O.B.S."

Comment by Queensman:

Ellie - I came mid way through that CBC discussion as well. Did you catch the part at the end where the Muslim representative said that Muslims had no alternative to the violence ("which I don't condone" - he would say that, wouldn't he?) because they lack a court where they could go and try the Pope?

As you point out he also whined about Muslims being under attack in Lebanon (after, of course, radical Islamists attacked Israel) and in Iraq (where radical Islamists are blowing apart innocent Iraqis in the thousands).

We face an unyielding, ignorant, violent ideology and more than half of the people in the West still do not understand it - or understand it and refuse to face it.

Yes, Queensman, I certainly did catch that bit. It's not that he's turning a blind eye to violence. He is actually condoning it.

I don't think we can realistically expect any more of third world Muslims, given their lack of education or access to impartial media, and the stranglehold their governments and religious leaders have over their minds and lives.

But this guy, Ahmad or whatever his name was, is living HERE, in a free western society -- and he STILL thinks like a brainwashed cultist. That's what's so scary.

Comment by Philanthropist:

If we can get Muslim leaders to go live in caves, perhaps we could convince them all that they should still be living in caves? And we'll only allow them out once they have evolved...

Comment by John Davis:

Yet, it's o.k. for a crackpot regime in Iran to sponsor a museum display that mocks and denies the Holocaust. Or, to put out a "hit" on Salman Rushdie.

Everyday it's becoming harder for me to believe that that's not the way to go.

I hope it doesn't happen, I really do. But if it does, they'll only have themselves to blame.
