Many Canadians and Americans just don't understand the Netherlands. It's easy to spot comments by people who have never been within 1000 miles of the place. Amsterdam and Rotterdam represent Ned. like NYC and San Fran. represent the USA. The economy is doing great. The north and east of the country is still quite religious in a calvinistic sort of way and anyone who wants to mess with them better remember that.
Some people read way too much Mark Steyn; who is presently flogging a book called "America Alone", or something laughable like that.
