The Dutch know all too well what happens when soldiers are treated like little boys in uniform. After WW2 the Canadians left behind thousands of children to be raised by mothers who in most cases never heard from the fathers ever again. This is well known about in the Netherlands but I don't think in Canada.
Posted at 2006-10-24 19:03:53 [PermaLink]One would think that contracting glandular service out to local vendors would be an easy way to bolster local economies ravaged by war and civil disorder, thus providing a 'twofer'--soldiers are provided with motivation to keep themselves at peak physical fitness, during their off-duty time no less, and indigenous workers can keep their economy moving, and maintain the self-respect that comes from an honest wage earned from honest labor. Two-for-one.
Ha ha, that was fun, wasn't it? Now, to be serious, in what country does this lightweight expect such a policy to be carried out? Besides the Mohammaddan ones, I mean, where most of the business of defending Civilisation over the next couple of decades is going to occur?
Once Were Nederlander.
Just a guess, but I'm thinkin' the Dutch ladies will be somewhat more appealing than the locals. On the downside, why on Earth would any Euro-tart want to go to Afghanistan?! I doubt the lineups outside the tent would be sufficient incentive..."Incoming!" ;)
(sorry, I couldn't resist)
"Hoors! Ya, by golly, send us hoors - t'ousands and t'ousands of hoors! I marry 'em all, yoo betcha!"
