Re: "At times I wonder if Asians do not have even more prejudice towards blacks than many whites."
Mark: I believe if you do some research you will find this to be the case. I have certainly read about this over the years - particularly with respect to East Asians.
Allan Rock seems to have an interesting definition of leadership. He says we should "continue to support the African Union force" and "call on key allies to put sustained pressure on those countries with influence in Khartoum". So the Africans do all the heavy lifting, the Europeans and Americans take care of the negotiating, and Canada does what exactly? Stands around and supervises?
I'm not suggesting that there is much more that Canada could do, but following his recommendations would hardly put us in the 'lead role' with regards to resolving the crisis in Darfur.
The Sudanese govt. just gave the entire UN the 'bum's rush'; so the killing can continue until morale improves.
This is only rivalled by the farce that has taken place in the Congo.

So much for the proposition that the UN is doing anything of substance in respect of genocide.
As some wags have noted before:
"The only thing we learn from history, is that we have learned nothing from history."
The Chinese are pretty fair, they have prejudice towards all foreigners.
And does anyone else find amusing how few political figures mention the reason that no one is helping Darfur is because the UN hasn't been invited in?
As for the Congo that's been going on in various tempo's since the end of the Second World War, it is in fact the site of the most human beings killed by other human beings since WW2.
