See, it's okay to lecture everyone on how stupid, evil, moronic, etc. some of us are on an issue, but there's no need to debate with us, 'cause we're petty scum. Buy his book, though!
If you're going to go on a political soapbox to moan about something, you should expect someone to counter back. Welcome to de-mo-cra-cy!
"I don’t want to have a conversation even indirectly with Dershowitz," Carter said. ‘‘There is no need to for me to debate somebody who, in my opinion, knows nothing about the situation in Palestine."
Palestine??
If Carter wants us to believe he knows so much, he could begin by getting the name of the country right.
Carter vs Dershowitz in an intellectual debate? Bring it on! I'd love to see Carter show up to a knife fight with a nail file.

Posted at 2006-12-16 16:06:30 [PermaLink]When Carter says he wants a debate, he doesn't mean he actually wants to debate someone -- especially not an experienced debater and courtroom advocate, like Dershowitz, who would probably clean his clock. What he means is that he wants his own policy preferences adopted, and often as not that means shutting out alternative views.

"He can't kick my lyin' ass unless I'm stupid enough to show up, and Momma didn't raise no fool."
