You forgot 'deranged imbeciles' after the 'many' in your last sentence.

Powerless, impotent socialists and communists the world over have always thought of America as a rogue state. Have you forgotten Western Europe's reaction to Ronald Reagan?

This man's arguments are similar to those made by DECENT leftists back in the early 80's when economic liberalisation began.

They claimed, and rightly so, that free markets wouldn't lead to free elections. They also maintained that the Chinese were much better entrepreners than Americans, and they appear to have been right about that, as well.

China's rise, in my opinion, is due just as much to American corporate greed, and the shortsighted strategies that greed demanded, as it is to Chinese industriousness and discipline.

27-odd years later, our manufacturing sector is completely eviscerated and our political and economic elites so beholden to profits from their chinese operations one could almost say they've a greater stake in Beijing's policies than those of Washington.

We've allowed ourselves to become so economically dependant on the Far East that were we ever to go to war with China, we'd first have to ask 'em to manufacture some American army uniforms just so that the boys would have something to wear into battle.

It's gotten just about that bad.

Try finding a single article of clothing ( even Gucci) that isn't made in China.

Shit! Try finding even a pen!

I'd wager that that situation won't last long. Perhaps we should all stock up!

Then again, if desperation sets in we could always use those wonton wrappers!

But I think they're made in China, though.
