FNC is biased against Dems? WHERE are such urban myths spawned?
Look: Murdoch is a huge Dem donnor, and he's in Hillary's camp. (No conservative, he.) Don't look to Faux for genuine criticism of Hillary. They want her Prez. More than half of Faux employee donations go to Dems, less than half to Republicans, and damn near zero to libertarians.
Let's put it this way: IF there was a *conservative* or Republican biased telemedium, it wouldn't look much like Faux. As it sits, the regular broadcast media are so heavily leftist, anything in the middle would look like a deranged right-wing nut-house...
I'm inclined to agree with much of what Ran says above, but while Murdoch did raise funds for Hillary's 2006 reelection he's also on record as stating she's divisive. Most, but by no means all, of his personal donations are to Republicans [External Link], and he hasn't come out openly in support of any Presidential candidate, yet.
Because few conservatives find their way into journalism, I suspect Ran's right that most employee contributions go to Democrats, but I don't know that to be true. I do know that the Washington DC Fox affiliate's news reporting leans left.
Also, because the wire services, AP, Reuters, etc., lean heavily left, that bias makes its way into Fox reporting.
Thanks for the correction Bruce. Should have checked his donation record for myself.
FNC was surveyed for donations from employees in '06... that's the source of the roughly 55/45 Dem balance. It wasn't "most" in the sense of domination, but definitely skewed left.
As for reporting, check Faux record on issues such as gun control and "gun violence." They're hardly the mouthpiece of the NRA. If it was any more shrill or one-sided, it'd have to come from Sulzberger's outfit.
Most (if not all) Democrats will be pulling hard to the left leading up to the primaries, then trying to tack back to the center for the general election.
Unfortunately, it looks like this time around they're so scared of the microscopic "loony left" that they're tacking so hard they're likely to drop right off the edge of the planet.
