Ok, well, not to sound churlish or anything, but what's a peace-keeping force in Darfur going to accomplish anyway ? Even under the very best circumstances -- and I'm talking full Sudan government support, no Russian/Chinese obstructionism, no French opportunism, and clear mission/rules of engagement allowing preemptive use of deadly force -- it would take a large, hugely expensive contingent of soldiers to maintain any kind of peace, and those soldiers would have to be maintained there indefinitely because, let's be honest here, there's just no hope of the locals making lasting peace between themselves. You really want Canada involved in this mess ? Or any Western soldiers at all ?
Darfur is an African problem. Let Africa deal with it. We have limited resources so let's use them in places where there's a glimmer of hope of accomplishing something.

A force that keeps the Janjaweed from killing the locals long enough to arm them (a few crates of Kalashnikovs per village, a few medium machine guns likewise, 50 or 100 thousand rounds of various ammunition, ought to suffice) and give them enough training to cut the bastards down if they try anything...
That's possible, cheaper, and more effective.
A lasting peace happens in such situations only two ways: It's too expensive [in blood as well as treasure] to keep fighting, or the other side is exterminated or thoroughly enslaved.
If we don't want the latter, we should ensure the former.
