I wrote a rather cynical post about the Darfur situation a few stories down from this one. Re-reading afterwards, I felt I might have been a bit harsh on the locals. Then I read this article on Zimbabwe and the SADC meeting results and think, no, they deserve all the scorn we can pour on them.

Mugabe's fat ass is covered with liberal lipstick, including the WCC, and various national subsidiaries, such as the US' NCC, and their constituent denominations. He was a hero for many, and for many, the deaths of huge numbers of brown people are meaningless if one of the Right Sort--marxist revolutionary--is the cause.
I spent some time a few years ago pestering lefties about how come things went wrong in Cambodia. Most professed to not know, exactly, what happened, and one called me a redneck, for asking.
Same-same allalong Zimbabwe.
So if Zim gets the British to compensate white farmers that were driven out of the country, does that mean that the US gets to make various African nations compensate those whose ancestors were sold into slavery? I mean because they "originated" from those countries.
