Comments: But high gas prices will help save the planet!

I couldn't believe the play that "research" got (Except from the credulous busybodies at the Globe). If the communist party tried to pass off some research claiming that collectivism leads to prosperity no one would care. This study from CCPA is really no different but everyone rushed it onto the news.

Harper now has bullet-proof answers to two big issues that each Opposition Party will be forced to bring up over and over, lest they lose ground to ANOTHER Opposition Party:

Monday:
Opp: Bring down gas prices
Harper: But I thought you wanted me to enforce Bill C288 (Kyoto Implementation Act) which can ONLY be achieved with higher gas prices ?

Tuesday:
Opp: Bring in Bill C288
Harper: But that will force me to increase gas prices, which you said yesterday you want me to bring down ?

What a gong show the Opps have become ! Remember the hi-fiving going on when Rodriguez got his C288 passed thru 3rd reading ? That bill hangs like an anchor around Dion's neck, ready to sink his Kyoto-credibility, as each passing day he does nothing to force Harper's hand on C288.

If people beleive that there are "huge" profits in gasoline, there is a simple answer - Buy stock in the companies!

That report sparked much shouting at the TV. First, no context about who produced this report, just breathless repetition of its conclusions. And by the second day, it was just referred to as "the report that showed we ARE being ripped off" by the oil companies. Things like this really prove the mindboggling dumbness of most news sources.
