Willie Mays remains my all-time hero, closely followed by Warren Spahn. Talk about performance late in the career by a Rain Man. And the war years he missed (best comparison as a pitcher maybe Greg Maddux).

Didn't the New York media and fans give Marris a hard time when he broke Ruth's record? And Maris was certainly more likeable than Bonds.
